Sangamon County Judges Seek Attorneys for Felony Cases

The Sangamon County Judges are in search of attorneys who are willing to be appointed to handle felony cases. Specifically, post-conviction matters and SVP/SDP cases. 
 
The Supreme Court amended Rule 299 to increase compensation for attorneys of indigent parties to $150.00 per hour from the previous $75.00 rate. 
 
The courts are committed to improving access to justice and are hoping to compile a list of attorneys who are willing to accept these cases.
