Effective immediately, Illinois Supreme Court Rule 14 is adopted

On December 9, 2020, the Illinois Supreme Court adopted Rule 14 authorizing implementation of text messaging programs by Clerks of any court effective immediately.

Effective January 1, 2021, Illinois Supreme Court Rules 529, 530 & 531 are amended

On December 9, 2020, the Illinois Supreme Court amended Rules 529, 530 and 531, adding the following language to each effective January 1, 2021: "Per the Act, only one scheduled assessment shall be applied regardless of the number of citations issues and prosecuted together.
