“Melinda has done impressive work with our partners and for our clients in our Southern Regional Office,” said Clarissa Gaff, Executive Director of Land of Lincoln Legal Aid. “She cares about the people she works with and we know she will continue to be a great advocate for our clients in our Northern Regional Office.”

Hubele is a 2013 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law. During law school, she began her career with Land of Lincoln Legal Aid as a student intern for the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. Upon graduation, Hubele served as the Medical-Legal Partnership of Southern Illinois’ (MLPSI) Intake Specialist before accepting an AmeriCorps VISTA position with MLPSI.

In 2015, Hubele became a staff attorney at Land of Lincoln in the Southern Regional Office (Carbondale, IL) where her practice centered on family law, domestic violence, public benefits, and simple estate matters.  In 2017, Hubele added MLPSI Coordinator to her list of responsibilities, and in 2018 became the co-chair of Land of Lincoln’s Family Law Task Force.

Hubele said, “I am excited by this opportunity to lead our Springfield office in providing dynamic legal services to low-income residents in the 14 counties it serves. I look forward to working with community members and agencies to ensure that Land of Lincoln is a vital resource for many.”
