Cannabis Expungement Webinar

Volunteers are needed for the October 3, 2020 expungement and sealing summit.

Due to COVID19, most of the work will be done before the summit, with direct counselling in limited cases on the summit date. We need lawyers to

1. Review/analyze criminal records and prepare petitions, and

2. Counsel clients.

If you are willing to help analyze but not prepare petitions, we can still use your help. You will get all the information you need at the August 6, 2020 training (Noon – 1pm, one hour of CLE). If you accept cases to type/prepare you will also receive the Excel file you need for preparing the case (the Excel file is the proprietary property of Cabrini Green Legal Aid, to be used only for this summit).

Jason Sweat of the Prisoner Review Board has generously agreed that his prior presentation on the automatic expungement of marijuana records can be made available to the SCBA. You do not need to know all in his presentation for our summit, but it is helpful information to have. Please view Jason’s PowerPoint below:
