The Sangamon County Bar Association is one of the largest and oldest bar associations in the State of Illinois.  Our purpose and object is to cultivate jurisprudence, to promote reform in the law, to facilitate the administration of justice, to elevate the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, to encourage a thorough and liberal legal education, and to cultivate and cherish a spirit of camaraderie among the members thereof.

We effectuate our purpose by holding events for our members, taking part in charitable events, giving to our community of our money and efforts, and working to increase the civility amongst our members and the bar at large.
