This year's two-day Family Law Symposium centers on the premise that while domestic violence representation has changed over the last year due to COVID, the need for strong advocacy in cases with domestic violence remains necessary. This interdisciplinary symposium will address issues of representation for both parties, including the current legal and social reality of domestic violence, financial abuse cases, intimate partner violence, representing clients with traumatic brain injuries due to domestic violence, the judge's perspective, testimony in domestic violence cases, suburban versus urban practices in the Chicagoland area, and parenting time concerns.

The symposium is a virtual event and will take place the afternoon of Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8th. A link to view the symposium will be sent ahead of the event.

DePaul University College of Law is an accredited CLE provider. This event has been approved for up to 8.5 general CLE credits.

Co-sponsored by the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center and LEDDED Ltd., a family law oriented continuing legal education company.

All ticket proceeds are used to benefit DePaul family law students and support additional Center programming.
