SCBA 2024 Dues Notices - Change in Membership Levels/Amounts

Good morning, SCBA Members,

On October 1, 2023, you will receive your yearly dues notice. With that, you will notice two changes:

We are simplifying the process to renew your membership. Instead of having multiple different categories and dues amounts based on years of being an attorney, we will have two levels: (a) those admitted to practice in the last 5 years (2019-2023), and (b) everyone else. We believe that this will help streamline dues renewal and be less confusing for individual and firm registration, while still providing a reduced rate to new attorneys.

2024 dues will be slightly increasing. For the first time in many years, SCBA is raising membership dues. As everyone knows, costs are increasing, venues are more expensive, and even your favorite domestic draft has increased in price. In order to best serve the organization and continue to provide events throughout the year, we have no choice but to slightly raise dues.

Any attorney 75 years of age, or that has practiced for 50 years, will still be considered an Honorary Member.

We hope that you understand the changes that we are instituting, and continue to support our great organization.

Thank you,

Ashley D. Davis, SCBA President
