Reproductive Rights, Privacy Rights, and the leaked Dobbs Opinion - Today at 12:00 pm
Reproductive Rights, Privacy Rights, and the Leaked Dobbs Opinion
In the immediate wake of the Supreme Court’s leaked opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the country and the legal community are making sense of what the draft opinion means for women’s health care and reproductive rights. Pushing beyond these questions, the substance of the opinion is also raising concerns about the legal underpinnings of other constitutional privacy rights related to marriage, procreation, child rearing, and medical treatments more generally. Finally, the legal community is shaken by what the leak means for legal ethics and trust.
Please join IU Maurer School of Law scholars Dan Conkle, Jody Madeira, Donna Nagy, Steve Sanders, and India Thusi today at 12:00 pm, for a discussion of the draft Dobbs opinion, its unauthorized release, and the implications for our constitutional order.
