Alternatives to Appeals

Please attend our appellate practice program presented by Gregory Swygert, Clinical Associate Professor of Law at the Center on Wrongful Convictions in the Bluhm Legal Clinic at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Professor Swygert supervises law students representing criminal defendants in various stages of post-conviction proceedings, focusing on the Center on Wrongful Conviction’s mission of identifying and rectifying wrongful convictions and other miscarriages of justice. The program will be moderated by ALA President Scott Howie.

Date:          Thursday, October 28, 2021

MCLE:        Participants will earn 1.0 hour of MCLE credit from the ALA.

Time:          12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Location:   Online. You will receive a Zoom link via email after registering for this event. (Please note only speakers will be visible, so participants need not dress formally for this event.)

Cost:          Free for members of ALA and of IACDL, and $25 for nonmembers.
